Assault on Antares is an electronic music, 7 track, 27:28 length EP composed by Troy Sterling Nies.

“This is a mash-up of styles from the 70-80s with a dash of contemporary electronic seasoning.
I was inspired by my early exposure to electronic music with groups such as Tangerine Dream, Kitaro, Synergy, Brian Eno, Vangelis, Steve Roach and more. Growing up in the 70’s-80’s exposed me to the renaissance of electronic music, the dawn of video games and home computers (Commodore 64 was my cpu). I have very vivid and fond memories of the arcade halls lined with standing game consoles such as GORF, WIZARD OF WOR, TRON, BATTLEZONE and many, many more. I had an ATARI 2600 (still do and it works!) and logged countless hours trying to master those games. All the while, the music of the electronic greats whirled through my head or were on the turn table or cassette deck while I played the games - a sort of do-it-yourself soundtrack by the means that I had at that time.

Now that the tools are available, I’ve been ‘playing in the aural sandbox’ so to speak and am happy to be able to release some my electronic music mind experiments with the influences and experiences mentioned above. I've teamed up with visual artist John Liposhak (visual FX for CALIGULA: THE ULTIMATE CUT) and he is currently creating a visual-video component for the music. Stay tuned for more! I hope you enjoy the journey.” - Troy Sterling Nies, composer OCT2023

CALIGULA - THE ULTIMATE CUT TRAILER

CALIGULA: THE ULTIMATE CUT TRAILER

CALIGULA: THE ULTIMATE CUT TRAILER

I had the absolute honor to compose an entirely new score for this complete restoration of the film classic. It was screened at CANNES with Helen Mirren in attendance. Thank you Thomas Negovan, my producer for this once in a lifetime challenge, experience and opportunity. I’m so very proud to be a part of the team. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think and where you saw it!

SYNOPSIS:

After murdering his adoptive grandfather, the Emperor Tiberius, Caligula seizes power and begins to dismantle the Roman Empire from within. A treatise on the corrupting influence of power, Caligula undertakes a harrowing journey through depravity, madness, and destruction.
40 years after its original release, Penthouse Films International presents a completely new cut of the shocking cult classic Caligula, featuring an unprecedented amount of never-before-seen footage. One of the biggest scandals in cinema history, the notoriously decadent film is finally presented in the manner it was always intended to be seen. Starring Malcolm McDowell, Peter O’Toole, John Gielgud, and Helen Mirren.

Year of production: 1976
Country: United States, Italy
Duration: 173

ABOUT THIS GAME

Whether the dreams brought on the fever or the fever brought on the dreams Walter Gilman
did not know.
- H.P. Lovecraft, The Dreams in the Witch House

Arkham, Massachusetts 1929. Walter Gilman, a promising math student, has just moved to the city and is starting his studies at Miskatonic University. The Dombrowski’s boarding house where he resides has a bad reputation, but Walter doesn’t mind the old rumors... Until the dreams start. A hideous scheme is underway, and if Walter is not careful, it could cost him more than his life. It could cost him his soul.

Dreams in the Witch House is a unique mix of classic point and click adventure and open world RPG. The gameplay is nonlinear and many of the elements are generated randomly, making each playthrough different.

You have two months to prepare Walter for the dreaded May-Eve. How you spend the time is completely up to you: concentrate on studies, get friends and stay in good physical and mental state. Or explore the old rumours, read the forbidden books at Miskatonic University, and work on your occult thesis. Or just stay in bed, and hope that it all goes away!

Based on the short story "The Dreams in the Witch House" by H.P. Lovecraft.

  • Open world sandbox meets point and click adventure game

  • RPG elements: money, health, sanity, and many character stats

  • Day / evening / night - cycles and changing weather

  • Several endings depending on player’s actions

  • 10 - 20 hours of playtime

  • Original soundtrack by genre favourite Troy Sterling Nies (The Call of Cthulhu, The Whisperer in the Darkness)

  • Creeping tension: otherwordly threats intensify gradually

  • 320 x 180 pixel graphics

  • Plenty of detailed animation and visual effects

MATURE CONTENT DESCRIPTION

The developers describe the content like this:

The game contains violence and gore, and deals with adult themes like occultism, cosmic horror, and human sacrifices.

New site, new projects…

I had a fair amount of headache with the previous web site host and decided to switch to Squarespace. After a big move, and some major life events, I’m back in the studio, happily and excitedly composing. I have a big announcement coming soon - a film project that will raise some eyebrows for sure. I cannot release any information on it now, but I can say that something historic is coming…. Stay tuned! Please reach out and let me know what you think of the new site, music and anything you’d like. Also, I’ll be putting up a store here soon to be able to release and sell my own music which will allow me better utilize funds for music creation. I’ll keep my websites and soundcloud and bandcamp going, but just know that if you purchase directly from me, you might just find some extra goodies. I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Best regards, Troy
